At AWA,
we see upcycling as a blank canvas to create your essential footwear and fashion accessories.

For the AW01 collection, our goal is to transform materials sourced from vehicles destined for compression.

As part of our collection plan, the inaugural piece is a pair of sandals. We reuse seatbelts to create chic sandal straps, perfect for summer and fall.

The AW01_01 and AW01_02 models are distinguished by their upper structure. Model 01 features crossed straps reminiscent of traditional Japanese sandals, while model 02 displays parallel straps inspired by ancient Roman sandals.

By choosing our upcycled sandals, you contribute to supporting a responsible approach to fashion and manufacturing. Our collection consists of two unique models, both made in Taiwan with materials sourced from end-of-life and out-of-use vehicles.

Imagine a workshop filled with seatbelts, each having traveled kilometers on the roads. We carefully purchase them to create our upcycled sandals, transforming them with care to bring unique shoes to life, reflecting our vision for a sustainable and stylish future.

Made in Taiwan from end-of-life vehicle materials. In our supplier's factory, seatbelts are cut, glued, and assembled with an EVA and recycled rubber sole. Each pair requires meticulous manual work by Taiwanese artisans, ensuring durability, comfort, and style.

Size chart

The AW01 and AW02 models will be distributed according to a size system XS, S, M, L covering shoe sizes from 36 to 47

If we manage to raise enough funds, we will offer specific sizes ranging from 35 to 48.

Colors

For models AW01-01 and AW01-02, we offer you the option to select your seatbelt colors based on available stock at the end of the campaign. Please note that the sandal soles will be delivered in black color only.

We chose to innovate by reclaiming airbags to create unique fashion accessories for our AW01 collection. These airbags, previously intended for safety purposes, are carefully transformed to give birth to elegant and durable pieces.

In our sustainability approach, we have selected a variety of airbags in vibrant and diverse colors. Each airbag, with its distinct nuances, adds a touch of character and originality to our accessories, reflecting our commitment to responsible and creative fashion.
